We call attention that the compulsory course  Astrophysics Laboratory 1 is split into two channels.
Students must choose one of the two options according to their preference (not depending on any alphabetic criterion).

- Important Notice related to the courses Fundamentals of Modern Physics and Fundamentals of Astrophysics and Cosmology

We call your attention to the following point, concerning the attendance to  two courses (listed below)  of the new LM Astrophysics and Cosmology.

Fundamentals of Modern Physics : to be attended by students with a bachelor degree in Astrophysics, or Astronomy , or with a astrophysics-oriented background
Fundamentals of Astrophysics and Cosmology :  to be attended by students with a bachelor degree in Physics, or with a physics-oriented background

Choosing the Course class upon enrollment

According to the Italian university system, all undergraduate courses (at the Bachelor and Master level) are labelled by a "course class". Our MSc course in Astrophysics and Cosmology has been designed to fit into two different course classes: LM 58-Scienze dell'Universo (Universe Sciences) and LM 17-Fisica (Physics). It is what is called an "inter-class course". Students are free to choose the class when enrolling in the first year, and possibly review their final decision until enrolling in the second year.

We remark that selecting one class instead of the other has (limited) impact only if you decide to apply for a teaching position in junior-high/high schools in Italy and has no other consequence whatsoever. More details are provided in Italian below.

CLASSI DI CONCORSO

Le classi di concorso sono dei codici utilizzati per avere una classificazione uniformata delle materie e dei titoli di studio necessari per l'accesso all'insegnamento di una determinata materia. Ogni titolo di studio quindi è abilitante per certe classi di concorso. Avere un titolo che permette l'accesso ad una classe di concorso significa poter insegnare quella materia. Inoltre le classi di concorso variano anche in base al grado dell'istituto (scuole secondarie di primo e/o secondo grado).
Attenzione: è necessario verificare i crediti necessari previsti per l’insegnamento della singola classe di concorso.
